E-Liquid Ratios Explained
50/50 – E-liquid that is produced to be a ratio of 50VG & 50PG is a drastically thinner consistency and is usually more commonly seen in 10ml bottles with added nicotine content for MTL vapers. Due to the liquid being of a thinner viscosity it does not need as much heat to vaporise it, which is the reason it is preferred to be used with smaller coils running a lower wattage. If used in a larger DTL devices it could lead to liquid leaking out of the airflow and burning coils faster as it will vaporise faster
70/30 – E-liquid that is produced to be 70VG & 30PG or any liquid with greater VG content has a much more viscous consistency, and is intended for use in DTL devices. This liquid will need to be used in a device with a higher wattage output and with a coil that is sub-ohm ( < 1.0Ω ), although a lot of the vaping community find the best results under 0.5Ω at a wattage between 50-80w. If this type of liquid is to be used incorrectly for example, used in a MTL device, it can lead to burning coils and no flavour as the liquid will be too viscous to vaporise efficiently on a smaller coil with a higher resistance
DTL or MTL
There is a lot of confusion over what these two abbreviations mean, and can intimidate new vaping customers by sounding overcomplicated.
DTL – Direct-To-Lung. This method of vaping tends to be for the more experienced vaper. It means to be inhaled straight into your lungs and straight back out just the same as you would naturally breathing.
MTL – Mouth-To-Lung. This method of vaping is the same as smoking where the user will inhale the vapour into their mouth, take it back into the lungs and then exhale.
NICOTINE
Freebase – Freebase nicotine is the chemical in its purest form, which gives e-liquids a stronger throat hit than nicotine salts. It causes the body to absorb nicotine at a more rapid rate. This type of vaping juice is most suitable for sub-ohm, which involves bolder flavours and much bigger puff clouds.
